By Calvin Gower, Marketing Assistant, Trupp HR.
Trupp HR recently delivered a training session for small employers in the metro area providing insight on implementing the Portland Protected Sick Time ordinance and other recent Oregon leave laws with all proceeds going to Impact NW. This was a great opportunity to not only educate local small businesses about the newly enacted Portland Sick Leave ordinance, but also give back to the community we live in.
Impact NW prides itself on inspiring hope and empowering independence. Their overall focus is on helping those in poverty, which is a more substantial issue in Oregon than most realize. Last year alone, 535,000 Oregonians lived below the poverty line. Impact NW takes on the problem of poverty through four different threads, which they believe lay the foundation for a prosperous future. These programs of focus include housing, education, income, and health.
With these programs in place Impact NW relies on donations of time and resources to make Oregon a better place, one person at a time. Whether it is through volunteering, donations, or mentoring, supporting these programs has a positive effect on Oregon’s residents. Trupp HR is proud to give to this organization that is taking tremendous steps to better our community and help those in need.
