A proposed rule has been issued by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) that would change the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) rule’s definition of “spouse”. Spouse would no longer be classified by the state of residence, but instead where the marriage took place.

Update on progress of Eugene sick leave ordinance
Lane county has passed a law that prohibits cities from establishing employment conditions. This is in direct conflict with Eugene’s newly proposed sick leave ordinance, setting up a face off between Lane County and it’s most prominent city.
