As leaders, it is important for all supervisors to understand the basic legal protections against discrimination, harassment and retaliation in the workplace. Even more important, is to understand the steps that can help prevent discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, and what to do when an employee makes a complaint related to this illegal and/or undesirable behavior.
This seminar will equip supervisors to recognize problematic behavior, address illegal and undesirable behavior, and respond to employee complaints of illegal conduct in a productive and non-disruptive manner.
– Understand the basic laws and regulations related to discrimination, harassment and retaliation in the workplace, including discerning between what is and is not illegal harassment.
– Be prepared to address behavior that is discriminatory, harassing or retaliatory.
– Learn key actions to take and to avoid in the face of allegations of discrimination, harassment and retaliation, including with employees exhibiting performance issues.
