DOL relaxes restrictions on minimum wage payments to tipped employees
Based on the challenges employers have faced implementing the 80/20 Rule (rule limiting employer ability to take tip credit for an employee’s “related duties”), new guidance limits the time restrictions that a tipped worker can spend engaging in non-tip work.
USCIS proposes changes to H-1B visa lottery
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has a new proposal that would require employers to register online to be selected at random before submitting visa petitions. The changes would also award visas to those with more advanced degrees earned in the U.S.
