States raising minimum wage in 2019

While the federal minimum wage has remained the same for a decade, many states are continuing to make increases into 2019. Eighteen states raised their minimum wage on the first of the year, while several other states will be implementing scheduled increases over the course of 2019.

OSHA 300A posting period begins

For all employers required to keep Form 300 (Injury and Illness Log), this form must be posted in a common area of the workplace by February 1, 2019. This posting time will extend until April 30, 2019.

The proposed overtime rule is making progress

The Department of Labor has sent the proposed overtime rule to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), which indicates that a public release is likely in the near future. Expect more news on the long-awaited rule. We encourage employers to be aware of and begin preparing for compliance requirements that may impact their compensation practices.
