Washington and Oregon have recently expanded the scope of their pay equity laws. Both states have broadened the protection for employees, do not allow employers to use pay history as a justification for how an employee is currently paid, and have defined factors that can be used in as a justification for pay differentials.

While many employers may believe their practices are equitable, the both states’ pay equity laws introduce a degree of complexity and risk that relies on a robust process assessing and maintaining employee pay equity.

This seminar will inform attendees on key aspects of the laws, timelines for provisions, and steps employers should be taking to comply with the equal pay laws to ensure pay practices support ongoing compliance.
