A couple years back, the U.S. women’s soccer team began their fight for equal pay. Since then, members of the team have emerged as role models and valuable resources for addressing this issue in women’s sports teams worldwide. Their strong initiative has brought to light unequal pay practices, lack of needed benefits such as paternity leave, and even marketing opportunities for women’s sports. This represents a major tipping point in the business of sports and shows that progress is being made for pay equity across a broad spectrum of industries.
