Navigating Employee Leaves of Absence in a Multi-State Environment
Employee leave management has become increasingly complicated and technical, even for experienced HR professionals. Not only do eligible employers have to administer Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), there are also several state-specific leave laws, state paid family leave, as well as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodation process to navigate. This triangle can be difficult to understand and administer properly. This webinar will discuss leave basics, including California’s CFRA amendments, Oregon and Washington protected leave (Oregon Family Leave Act and WA Paid Family and Medical Leave) as well as ADA intersections.
- Understand the fundamental elements of the FMLA and the process for administering leave properly
- Learn about California’s CFRA updates and changes to eligible employers
- Understand the differences between FMLA, OFLA, CFRA, and Washington’s Paid Family and Medical Leave
- Learn how state leave laws intersect with FMLA and the ADA
- Learn best practices for curbing employee leave abuse
