Webinar: Preparing for Paid Leave Oregon

 

Paid Leave Oregon will be here soon for Oregon employers. This webinar is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the new law and how the paid leave program will be implemented. This webinar will provide the knowledge to navigate and effectively implement Paid Leave Oregon. Attendees will gain a deep understanding of the program’s provisions and requirements, including eligibility criteria, qualifying reasons for leave, employer obligations, and employee rights.

After completing this course, the learner will:


  • Clearly understand the eligibility requirements for employees to qualify for paid leave benefits.
  • Be able to differentiate the types of leave the program covers, including family, medical, and safe leave.
  • Gain the ability to investigate the qualifying reasons for taking paid leave, such as family care, personal illness, bonding, and domestic violence situations.
  • Understand the obligations and responsibilities of employers implementing the Paid Leave Oregon program.
  • Fully grasp employee rights, including job protection, continuation of benefits, and the process for requesting and using paid leave.
  • Recognize the relationship between Paid Leave Oregon, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and the Oregon Family Leave Act (OFLA).
  • Be ready to address common challenges and issues that may arise during the program’s implementation, providing strategies for effective compliance.

 


HRCI: 1 Credit – The use of this official seal confirms that this activity has met HR Certification Institute’s® (HRCI®) criteria for recertification credit pre-approval.

Kirsten Orr (She/Her), SHRM-SCP, CLMS, Director of Benefits and Leave Administration Services

Kirsten is the Director of Benefits and Leave Administration Services at Trüpp.  She completed her undergraduate degree in HR Management and Management & Leadership and is currently obtaining her master’s degree in HR management.  Kirsten is passionate about staying current on the latest state and federal leave laws and trends in benefits offerings to provide employers with a competitive edge in attracting and retaining employees.
