Webinar: Understanding State-Specific Paid Family Leave Requirements

 

Paid family leave programs have become increasingly popular among many states.  10 states – California, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Washington – currently offer paid family and medical leave. Two states – Colorado and Oregon –paid family leave contributions to fund the program beginning January 1, 2023.

This webinar will equip employers to understand multi-state paid family leaves, employer obligations, and the interaction between paid sick leave and other leave protections. This webinar will dive deeper into the new upcoming Oregon paid family and medical leave law.

After completing this course, the learner will:


  • Understand the fundamental elements of how paid family leave programs work
  • Learn about each state’s requirements, including employee eligibility, payroll contributions, and quarterly reporting, with a close look at Oregon’s new paid family and medical leave law
  • Understand the various qualifying reasons for taking paid family leave
  • Recognize the differences between FMLA, paid family leave, and other associated state-protected leave
